James Davison & Misha Mullov-Abbado
Having been making music together in various forms for around 20 years, James and Misha have finally recorded their long-awaited trumpet-and-bass duo project. Both starting out as classical musicians and gradually finding their way to jazz, the music on this album reflects the vast variety of different genres they each come across as part of their wholesome and colourful musical lives. The album features two original compositions and their collaborative arrangements of some traditional jazz standards, a Brazilian bossa nova and a Beatles song. Playful improvisation is a key feature of this intimate collection of music, recorded in London where both are playing jazz every day with some of the UK’s finest musicians.
