New Year, New Music & New Musicians!

With the New Ansonia tour out of the way I am pleased to announce that my group will be continuing in the new year with some fresh new music, along some new musicians too. Our next gig will be at The Vortex on Monday 25th January and I will be graced with the raw talents of the extremely versatile and swingin’ trumpeter James Davison and the sensual, fiery and illustrious Sam Rapley on the tenor saxophone. Matthew Herd, Liam Dunachie and Scott Chapman will be generously reprising their old roles too. We have some new pieces to perform for you all that are drawn, as ever, from a variety of influences. Tickets are on sale now from the venue’s website.

I am also part of an exciting new trio called Luftabbamic with virtuoso guitarist Rob Luft and rock-solid drummer Marc Michel. We have our first gig at the wonderful Omnibus Arts Centre in Clapham on Sunday 10th January. And this month Rob and I are also involved involved in a series of gigs with the great, Italian drummer Enzo Zirilli‘s band Zirobop. We have three London gigs coming up to mark the launch of the band’s album, and they are at The Bull’s Head in Barnes (Sat 2nd Jan), The Hideaway in Streatham (Thu 7th Jan) and The Crypt in Camberwell (Fri 8th Jan), so get yourself along to one of these if you’re in South London…
